Daily · · Cline · 🌶️🌶️🌶️Spicy: act this week (security, deadline, breaking) Why: Default model swap
Cline CLI and Desktop default to Sonnet again
Check your model: the Cline provider’s default in Cline CLI and Desktop is Claude Sonnet 5.5 again. It’s back at the top of Cline’s recommended list. Also fixed: GPT-6 models now work on OpenAI and Azure OpenAI-compatible endpoints, where every request used to be rejected.
In plain English
Skipped picking a model in Cline, and your default just changed back. With no model chosen, the Cline provider in Cline CLI and Desktop now uses Claude Sonnet 5.5, which is back at the top of Cline’s recommended list.
Want to stay on one model whatever the list says? Choose it yourself.
GPT-6 models now work on OpenAI and Azure
Requests to GPT-6 models, such as gpt-6-sol and gpt-6.1-sol, on OpenAI and Azure OpenAI-compatible endpoints used to be rejected every time, because Cline sent max_tokens instead of max_. That’s fixed.
Other providers with new defaults
The model catalog was refreshed and adds the CommandCode and Reflection providers. Default models also change for 302.AI (Gemini 4 Argon), Eden AI and Prime Inference (Muse Spark Open), CoreWeave (Reflection Beam 1.0), NanoGPT, Pioneer (Nemotron 3.5 Super VL) and Scaleway (DeepSeek V4.1 Flash).
